שני המרצים הם הינם חלוצים בתחום מחקר צעיר זה ועומדים בראש מכון I-share גרמניה, פרויקט המחקר הנרחב ביותר בתחום הכלכלה המשתפת בעולם כיום.

ד"ר דומיניקה וורוק

דומיניקה היא חוקרת בכירה באוניברסיטת מנהיים, גרמניה, וממובילי פרויקט i-share.
לדומיניקה דוקטורט מאוניברסיטת מנהיים ומביה"ס לניהול שבבורדו, צרפת (Ecole de Management in Bordeaux). תחומי המחקר של דומיניקה כוללים כלכלה משתפת, ניהול ופיתוח ידע ארגוני, התפתחות והתפשטות של ניהול ידע בארגונים וקונסטרוקטיביזם חברתי.

פרופ' אכים אוברג

אכים הוא חוקר בכיר באוניברסיטת וינה, אוסטריה, לכלכלה ומנהל עסקים, ובאוניברסיטת מנהיים, גרמניה. אכים הינו ממובילי פרויקט i-share. לאכים תארים מאוניברסיטת מנהיים (גרמניה) ואוניברסיטת סן-גלן (שוויץ). תחומי המחקר של אכים כוללים כלכלה משתפת, חפיפת שדות ארגוניים והופעת צורות ושיטות ארגוניות חדשות.

Business Models in the Sharing Economy in Germany

Abstract

Existing research on sharing organizations categorizes them by asking what kinds of industries they affect and what types of goods or services are shared and exchanged. What is not yet understood is how these organizations operate, this is how they propose, create and capture value. We thus know little about the emergent business models in the sharing economy, although they seem to be an important source of variation. But how can we measure similarities and differences between business models of sharing organizations and how can we identify types of business models? We propose a semantic network approach which we have developed to analyze organizational forms to answer this question. To do so, we disassemble business models of individual sharing organizations into sets of co-occurring features and codes. The resulting co-occurrence networks can then be compared to identify “similarity clusters” – which can be interpreted as precursors of organizational forms and business models – and to measure differences between sharing organizations, between organizations and clusters, and between different clusters. We use data on sharing organizations in Germany which we collected in autumn/winter 2016. We thereby identify two similarity clusters and a mediating cluster. Comparing individual organizations with these similarity clusters reveals nuanced variations within clusters and interesting cases of cluster-spanning hybridity. With these insights we contribute to develop a deeper and fine-grained understanding of what the sharing economy is.

Dr. Achim Oberg is assistant professor at the Institute of Organization Studies at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria, and senior researcher at the Institute for SME Research at the University of Mannheim, Germany. He held positions at RWTH Aachen (2004-2007) University and KIT Karlsruhe (2003-2004). Achim Oberg studied business administration and computer science at the University of Mannheim, Germany, and the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. His research focuses on overlapping organizational fields and the emergence of new organizational forms and practices.

Dr. Dominika Wruk has studied business administration at the University of Mannheim, Germany and at the Ecole de Management in Bordeaux, France. She is a research assistant at the institute and chair for SME research and Entrepreneurship at the University of Mannheim, Germany since 2008. In autumn 2011 Dominika Wruk spent three months as a visiting scholar at the Stanford University in California, USA. One major research interest is how ideas, practices and organizational forms evolve and become institutionalized in organizational fields. In her dissertation she studied the development and spread of management knowledge from a social constructivist perspective.

Achim Oberg and Dominika Wruk currently work in the project i-share (www.i-share-economy.org), which aims at understanding organizational forms in the sharing economy and capturing the impact of the sharing economy in Germany.
